Traditional games are so interesting.

- O an Quan
The game's origin is still a mystery to Vietnamese people as it has been played for many years. Many people said Vietnamese ancestors were inspired by green rice fields to invent a game that can be played in those huge fields. At first, the game had become quite popular throughout the country. However, as time passed Vietnamese children no longer had the same passion for the game like those in the past. It is one of the reasons why the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is exhibiting the game with fully explained instructions with the aim of keeping the game alive among children nowadays. According to many researchers, O An Quan belongs to Mancala (Manqala or Minqala) means "movement." Mancala was first invented in Egypt (1580-1150 BC).

 

- Play CHAN
The game may have come from China and with quite a hard to play rule. There should be 120 cards belonged to 3 categories M, L, B. Cards painted with pictures of men, women, childen, peaches, fishes, walls and boats. All are accompanied a number from 1 to 9. A group of four to five people can make game run. There are concepts learnt to play. Chan: two identical cards; Ca: two cards with the same number but belonging to different categories; Ba dau: three cards with the same number but belonging to different ctegories; Cua tri: place to leave card on the right of the player where the palyer has priority to collect the corresponding card and win...
